On 23 October 2026, ESCOP met at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Wädenswil, Switzerland hosted by our Chair Dr. Evelyn Wolfram.
The day brought together three meetings: the Board, the Full Scientific Committee and the Annual General Meeting.
Board decisions: from discussion to pilot projects
The Board’s discussions led among many other routine issues to two concrete decisions.
Visual summaries and grading of evidence. We will start pilot projects on visual, easy-to-read summaries of our newly released monographs. These will come with a grading system that makes the strength of the evidence clear at a glance.
AI-supported monograph workflows. Between now and our next meeting at the University of Florence, hosted by Co-Chair Prof. Anna Rita Bilia, we will pilot standardised use cases and prompts within defined workflows. The pilot covers the whole monograph process, from the literature review to the final review by the supervising editor.
Step by step ESCOP is entering a new era. We want to bring our scientific rigour and expert review into a digital, AI-supported world, and we want to do it transparently and with high quality standards.
The following monographs are in preparation:
- Rosemary leaf and Rosemary oil (Rosmarini folium / Rosmarini aetheroleum)
- Lady’s mantle herb (Alchemillae herba)
- Roselle flower (Hibisci sabdariffae flos)
- Pumpkin seed (Cucurbitae peponis semen)
We warmly thank ZHAW and Dr. Evelyn Wolfram for hosting us, and we thank all members for their commitment.
